According to the CDC, 42 Million Americans do not have easy access to a doctor, especially in the rural parts of the country. Visiting the doctor's office can be a hassle and expensive, so unnecessary trips are costly and should be minimized.
CheckVR is the solution. It is the first mobile VR app made for Google Cardboard which allows the user to pick on a model of a human where they are feeling symptoms (acute pain, bleeding, itch, etc).
After all the symptoms are listed, the program is able to determine, with high confidence, a specific diagnosis.
This will inform the user on whether or not they should schedule an appointment with the doctor, and allow them to avoid unnecessary trips.
Check VR is better than WebMD because not only is it easier to use, but it also works offline so all a patient needs to get a diagnosis is a phone, and a google cardboard.
In the future, we wish to implement treatment options after the diagnosis is given for non-threatening diagnoses, or alternatively contact information for a hospital or doctor if the diagnosis is severe.
