I ferment my own kombucha, and this works best at above 68 degrees Fahrenheit. So I my place is cooler than that a lot of the time, so I needed a way to keep stuff warm. I lined a cabinet with insulation and needed a thermostat. I am also using a slab of soapstone as a thermal reservoir. My heat source is a 40W incandescent light bulb. a simple thermostat had issues since the temperature would swing really high and low. So I needed a "low" setting. When the temperature inside the chamber is between the high and low settings, it will cycle on and off and keep the temperature regulated nicely. If the temp gets too hot, the intermittent heat will adjust by staying on a little less. I also use the LEDs on the Carrier to light up the cabinet when the door opens
