The Solar You app is intended for anyone who ever gets curious about how old they would be if they lived somewhere else in the solar system. It's also possible for any extra-terrestrials originating from planets other than Earth to also use this app to make comparisons.
Simply enter the age you want to convert, and choose the planet you want as your reference point. Then click the convert button. You get a list of all the planets in our solar system (no Pluto, we're going with the scientific community's categorization), and the age you would be on that planet.
The main interactions are typing and drop-down searching. If I had more time and was better at figuring out Android, I would've gotten rid of the 'convert' button and gone for sliders or something more conductive to real-time change, instead of having to press that button every single time I wanted to see another planet or another age.
Working for the first time with Android development was definitely an experience. I wish I had set aside some more time to explore, because even the 'simple' looking parts of this: Getting that line of text at the top; making sure the drop-down "spinner" worked correctly - those took up far more time than expected. I had lots of initial ideas about how this app could happen, but I found myself limited because I underestimated amount of overhead it would take to just get familiar with things. Definitely looking forward to see what more I can do.
