I use Sensor Station for proper watering my balcony plants while being on holidays. It collects moisture sensor values and builds the input for firing up the watering system. Both, Sensor Station and the watering system are controlled remotely over Internet. I have integrated Sensor Station in Homie Center, a home automation web application running on Raspberry Pi.
