Recently I got my hands on a microscope. Well, to be correct a $23,-- priced microscope, which can be connected via USB to your PC. I had to try it immediately.
In the images below you can see my ring "a bit" larger (700x). Also a small part of my hand (30x) and the same place on my hand bigger (700x).
That's fun, but even more fun is to write a Windows 10 UniversalApp, because than one can use it also on a Raspberry PI (when running the Windows 10 IoT edition on it).
The only thing you will need is the Raspberry PI with Windows 10 IoT and the USB camera below. This one works quite good on the PI.
To get it running on the PI I would recommend the code sample from Microsoft:
https://ms-iot.github.io/content/en-US/win10/samples/WebCamSample.htm
You might want to adapt it as you like, I am showing the last four images and the microscope image is displayed a bit larger. You will find my version on my github account.
I hope you have as much fun as I have with this microscope and the Universal App running on Windows 10 IoT. My kids and I *love* it!
