This tutorial gives some best practice tips for using Electric Paint with the Light Up Board.
Step 1: Prepare the cutout
First, make sure you have the pre-cut template to attach your board to. You can download the file here, and follow the tutorial below to learn about attaching your board.
If you already have a pre-cut template or are using the lamp templates that come with the Electric Paint Lamp Kit, just go to the next step.

Step 2: Apply Electric Paint
Once you’re familiar with attaching the Light Up Board, you can start applying Electric Paint. Remember, you have to select the mode you’re using and paint to the appropriate electrodes first. If you don’t know what this means, check out the Light Up Board Modes tutorial here before starting.
If you are using the lamp templates from the kit, just paint the template lines. Make sure to paint a continuous track, otherwise, the paint won’t work. If you are designing your own trace, make sure it’s at least 3mm wide.

Step 3: Attach the Light Up Board
Before you can attach the Light Up Board, make sure that the paint is fully dry. If the paint is not, you risk smudging the board and shorting the electrodes. If this happens your board will not work. You will have to remove it and clean it.
Once the paint has fully dried, attach the Light Up Board. Follow the 4 step process outlined in this tutorial here.

Step 4: Cold solder
With the Light Up Board in place, you can now cold solder into the electrodes. To do this you squeeze a droplet of Electric Paint inside the electrodes that you want to connect to the Electric Paint. Make sure the paint has fully dried before moving on to the next step.

Step 5: Plug in the Light Up Board
Once the board is in place and cold soldered you can plug in the USB cable and light up the LEDs. Just touch your switch to turn them on!
