The usual problem is what comes after simulation: you get the circuit working in
a simulator and then lose time working out how to build it. If you're a
beginner, a complex schematic gives you no clue where to start. And if the
project already works in simulation, the choice is waiting for the PCB or
building it by hand today.
breadwire converts an electrical schematic into an assembly that is ready to
build straight away, so you only have to follow a visual, step-by-step assembly
guide. You draw the schematic (it analyses connectivity live) and it works out
where every component goes, which rails carry which net and how the jumpers
should run, then shows the assembly in 2D and in 3D.
It is not a simulator and doesn't try to be one — it isn't a breadboard
simulator either. It translates a schematic you already trust into a physical
layout you can build before ordering a PCB.
I'm collecting suggestions and ideas, so tell me what's missing or what you'd
like it to do.
