Ring
I'm not really much of a ring person so If i was to design a ring for myself I would make it as simple as possible but for the sake of familiarizing myself with 3d printing I thought it would probably be a good idea to print something a bit more complicated so I created a pyramid shape on 123 Design to glue onto the top of the ring.
3d printing was surprisingly straight forward I simply made sure to follow the b courses module step by step. I did however forget to put glue on the bed and had to restart the print. calibration was tedious but not too complicated.
Laser Cut Name Tag
I didn't have a any trouble with the name tag.
I made the illustrator file and then laser cut it on wood.
I never considered making a stand for the name tag, though I admit that name tags with stands are more easily appreciated for afar I find that just having something that sits flat on the ground is much more elegant and unobtrusive, and also far easier to carry around
vehicle
my vehicle has two big wheels responsible for creating motion and direction, and two small wheels that are in charge of keeping the vehicle balanced.
prototyping in cardboard was great, for the first time I really felt like I could cut something just to try it out and then see what I did wrong and repeat the process. whereas before when I was cutting acrylic or wood it always felt like whatever I was cutting had to be perfect of the first try.
