Solar You is an app that lets you quickly and easily see your age on every planet in our solar system! Simply choose a planet in the dropdown, type in your age, and watch each planet update in real time.
Design
My goal was to make it as simple as possible to see your age in as many places at once. I put all the planets in a GridView because it listed out each planet in a very easy to understand way and allowed all of them to be viewed on the screen at once. To help users visualize which planet they are currently on, a yellow light pops up behind the planet they choose, connecting the yellow of the selected planet name to the yellow border around the planet. It's very easy to hop from planet to planet — who needs travel at light speed when you can just open up Solar You?
Technical
I only allow users to enter an age up to five digits long, and they can only type numbers or a decimal point into the text area. The age per planet is rounded up to two decimal places.
