The Zephyr OS is a small-footprint kernel, designed for use on resource-constrained and embedded systems from simple embedded applications such as environmental sensors and LED wearables to sophisticated embedded controllers, smart watches, and IoT applications.
In this lab, we will guide you on how to work with Zephyr projects on Renesas RA8 series using EK-RA8M1 kit. It provides steps to build, flash, and debug sample project. The lab also reviews Zephyr structure and how to customize sample applications.
First please follow the attached file with the pre-lab instructions. This will make sure you have installed Zephyr RTOS and all necessary tools for this lab.
After you have completed the pre-lab steps, you can proceed with the lab. You can find useful information and step by step instructions on the lab handout document. The lab contains the following sections.
1) Setup EK-RA8M1 and Get Ready
2) Build and flash available samples of Zephyr
3) Debug with Visual Studio Code
4) Create a Blinky project with overlay and config files
