Welcome to my project, an extension of my previous project Solar Power. If you haven't viewed it already, I will explain what I did. I connected three 1.5 V 240 mA solar cell together to a LED successfully. (Below)

This project got me thinking. If I left my project on the windowsill and left to do something else, the harvested power would be put to waste. I looked around for some rechargeable LED's and put the circuit together and got this:
"Solar Power" Version 2
Before using just the circuit I tried using the three batteries themselves, and, well, blew up the LED. I used ten times the current of the solar cells, which have 240 mA.
Any idea about what should I do, and is this circuit possible? Thank you for your help!

Hello! I am an beginner on the Raspberry Pi and have a model 3 and B+. I know some Python Programming Language as well.
