My story is about giving to those who are less fortunate than me. I have been blessed to have born without any deformities or problems, but sadly not everyone can say the same. However, that doesn't mean I can't help those who aren't as lucky as me, and so I decided to do some research. I found a site called Enable which inspired me to take on this project. The thought of helping someone I didn't even know and impacting them positively for the rest of their life was a very humbling thought. I'm glad I took on this project and I feel as though I have grown as a result from it.
My project involved fabricating the hand with the help of heat, as the material used to print things via a 3D printer is quite malleable once heat is applied. I was able to form the cuff and forearm, along with some of the other parts, just by applying heat to them, which I found quite fascinating, as I didn't realize it was that simple. Overall I learned quite a lot from this project and I hope to continue projects like this, along with more complicated ones, in the future.
