Many people need to monitor the temperature in a remote place like a warehouse or greenhouse in case that they need to make sure their property is safe in real time. I managed to find a perfect and inexpensive solution to help them. Now, I build a low cost remote temperature monitor with an alarm alarm and a temperature sensor.
The principle of the project is to use a WiFi-enabled smart-switch Sonoff TH to connect a temperature sensor and then place them in my target location to measure the temperature in real time. I also use another smart-switch Sonoff WiFi Wireless Smart Switch to connect an alarm and place them in my home or office. When the temperature in my target place is higher or lower than the value I set up, the alarm will ring and alert me even if I'm at home or office, even I'm outside.
1. Connect Sonoff temperature Sensor AM2301 and a power plug into Sonoff TH, and then place them in your target place like a warehouse or greenhouse. Last, plug the power plug into a power outlet.
2. Connect the alarm and a power plug with Sonoff WiFi Wireless Smart-Switch. Install them at home or office, and then power up this smart switch.
3. Download and install this e-WeLink app from Google Play on your Android phone. After that, register a new E-WeLink account and log in.
4. Click the “Add Device
” button in this app, at once, hold down its “Set
” button for several seconds. Then, go back to this app, click the “Next
” button, enter your WiFi name, password, and finish the rest steps. Use the same way to add add Sonoff WiFi Wireless Smart Switch.
5. On the top right corner of the app interface, go to the "Scene
" -> "Smart Scene
" option. Click the first “+
” buttons to add temperature conditions, for example, the temperature >= 26 ℃ or <= 0 ℃. Next, click the second “+
” buttons to open this WiFi wireless temperature.
It's done. Also, watch the video:
