I was recently talking with my dad in a store, and he just couldn't hear me. He was looking at where my mouth would normally be, but instead, my mask was there.
I find myself doing the same thing as him sometimes, in loud situations I read lips. I'm not perfect at it, but it helps supplement my my hearing and helps confirm what i'm hearing.
What if we could wear a mask that translated our speech to text in real time? It might be just as reliable as my, shaky at best, lip reading. At least it would help clarify things or help confirm what I'm saying. This would be particularly useful when it is impossible to speak louder. In this post-covid-19 world, we need solutions that increase our ability to communicate with each-other
