This concept is for enhancing our lives by having our environs light up when we are in proximity of a light or an array of them. The execution is simple.
Each GE light is implanted with an active Radio Frequency Identification Device - RIFID sensor and it is registered with its own unique ID. A simple program is written for an Android device "like a cell phone" application that picks up the RIFID signal and executes predefined actions according to which ID is in range.
The uses are limitless like personal helps, program your personal space for lighting, program a matrix of lights for advertising, art displays, exercise routines and many more.
A low level application will drive a user friendly interface for setting up predetermined actions within a GE environment. The program can recognize passive tags or active tags through the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology built into the Android.
Using the Phidgets application programming interface (API) and .NET on a Microsoft Windows XP machine, or other APIs for Linux, the Mac, and other platforms to control the reading from the RFID, different program parameters from the IDs can execute unique applications setup by the user.
Create a membership database, add an additional field for the Tag ID. The member can be scanned and associate the Tag ID to that member in membership database. From that point forward, that unique RFID tag will be associated to that member in the database. The retrieved unique tag ID is searched in the membership database and then get the associated membership information determine which program is launched.
