The idea for this key ring came to my mind after considering
how to make a key ring more functional but keeping it aesthetically minimal.
Grabbing
the keys out of the pocket can be a problem when doing it while doing something
else and/or in a hurry: like holding the bicycle when wanting to lock it fast in order to do not arrive late to a meeting. The shape selection? A square and a
circle. Both basic shapes and, in some degree, considered opposite one to each other: the balance of opposites.
The 3D factor here allowed me to take these to
the form of a square and a sphere (a "non-sphere" in this case). The square on
the outside to make it harder for the keys to fall deep into the pocket and structurally harder, but the holes inside
big enough to allow the fingers to go in for and easier and faster grabbing.
With this key ring, grabbing the keys
is a safer (no more drops because of the hurry) and intuitive practice.
