The File Transfer System is a conceptual project that is aimed to be used in corporate meetings and events. Files will be specifically sent to each desired client and will be displayed on the screen, the mechanism is the same with Master-Slave process but only the master can send files to the slaves.
This project uses the gen4-uLCD-70DCT-CLB display as the master that holds 4 files and sends them specifically to 3 uLCD Diablo 43DT displays. This project is suitable to be mounted on the conference tables and desks and to be used by 3-4 people, this helps the users read files in business meetings and conferences rather than having them printed.
The gen4-uLCD-70DCT-CLB is the perfect display module for this project, the 7.0 inch screen allows bigger space for GUI buttons and displaying files, the Diablo16 also offers 4 Communication ports (including 1 port dedicated for programming), making multiple slaves possible.
How it Works- gen4-uLCD-43DT x 3 (or uLCD-43DT)
- 30 way FFC Cable
- uSD Card x 4
- uUSB Cable
- Connecting Wires
Connect the display to the PC as shown in the image below. You can also use the gen4-PA board if you want to use its GPIO pins.
Build the circuit as shown in the diagram below.
If you are using Gen4-PA board, connect the display to the PC like the image below.
- Download the project code here.
- Open this project using Workshop 4. This project uses the Visi Environment
- You can modify the properties of each widget.
- Click on the “Build Copy/Load” button.
Note: This step could be skipped. However, compiling is essential for debugging purposes.
Step 4: Comp’n Load- Connect the display to the PC using uUSB-PA5 and a mini USB cable. Make sure that you are connected to the right port. Red Button indicates that the device is not connected, Blue Button indicates that the device is connected to the right port.
- Now click on the “(Build) Copy/Load” button.
- Workshop 4 will prompt you to select a drive to copy the image files to a uSD Card. After selecting the correct drive, click OK.
- The display module will prompt you to insert the uSD card.
- Properly unmount the uSD Card from the PC and insert it to the uSD Card slot of the display module. The image below must appear on your display after completing the steps above.
Both the Master and the Slave can view the text files on both of their screens. Client displays can only view or clear files within the system.
