Security has become an important aspect in smart home applications. The concept offers a convenient and safe environment for occupants. The idea of this project is to develop an enhanced and adaptive, low cost device for monitoring human presence using Arduino 101. This project focuses on the security of the home when user is away from the place. The user can activate and deactivate the system from a remote location.
The security system uses a camera for capturing images and communicating with a device to display the captured image. It also has a GSM module to send text messages to alert the user who is away from his place. The system also has an alarm system in case of any unusual activities detected. It has a separate speaker to inform the visitor if the person is away from home.
The proposed system is programmed to adapt itself based on the user activities, such as the duration of his absence, his regular time of leaving and entering the house, etc. The system collects information from the user through an app. Image analysis is done based on the saved data and images captured each time the same visitor comes and is sent to the user.
