2015, Pune - Azure Conference

We built this device with an ATTiny85 processor. This device has an HC-05 Bluetooth chip, an HC-SR04 distance sensor and a PIR motion sensor. Device connects with a PC, in this demo, otherwise to an IoT Hub Device, over bluetooth and reports any motion and distance of the alien object.

The application on PC captures a Photo using a USB WebCam attached and posts it to the cloud, from there a notification is sent to the registered mobile device. User can see the captured image on his phone.

If the object stands at around 50cm form the device, we initiate a Skype call from the PC to registered account. User can then speak with the person standing in front of the device.

Not to make the demo too complex for audience, we did this demo with a PC and our device, however we worked on a hub device (to be published separately) which handles this with ease and based on user feedback, we did reversed the call direction i.e. User gets notification with picture but the Skype call is initiated by User from his phone and lands with the hub device.
