Samba is used for sharing files over the network, it is often very useful. Whether you need to transfer media files or you want to use the it as a simple Network-Attached Storage (NAS) device.
$ sudo apt-get install samba samba-common-bin
$ sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf
Find the parameters in file:
workgroup = WORKGROUP wins support = yes
***This will allows us to use Samba in Windows operating system if you are using magic mouse on Windows***
Add some few lines in order to share attached USB devices over Samba:
[usb] comment=usb path=home/pi/media browseable=Yes writeable=Yes only guest=no create mask=0777 directory mask=0777 public=yes ##public=no
If you do not want to set Security: public=yes
If you want to set Security: public=no
Setup user's for access:
$ sudo smbpasswd -a chip
And enter password twice. Samba config is done!
Open Settings and then Removable Drives and Media.
Then Storage and check Frist 3 box.
Connect to Server or ⌘k :
smb://192.168.43.243 //enter your chip ip//
If you have security, enter the username and password or else keep it "Guest".
Click on connect.
Now you can access your all contents wirelessly.
**Battery needs to be charge and it gives backup up to 7-8hr on moderate usage**
**It supports up to 2TB harddrive.**
