π Etch-a-Sketch Portrait Robot with Raspberry Pi & ESP32
At Open Sauce '24, Swapnil explains the motor-driven Etch-a-Sketch systems built by Every Flavor of Robot β including one that draws a random meme, and another that functions as a live photo booth! A Raspberry Pi takes the photo, processes it into a line drawing, then generates a set of G-Code instructions (like those used in 3D printers) and sends them over Wi-Fi to the group's custom motor controllers. An ESP32-S3 receives the signal and passes it to brushless motors. Awesome!
Stay tuned for Part 2 β featuring a fancy vibrational erase system!
