Hi, Hackster.io fellows.
Today I'm going to show you how to create your own Instagram glasses with a Raspberry Pi Zero W connected via Hotspot to your smartphone.
First thing to do is to access to our Raspberry Pi from HDMI or SSH and clone the project repository.
git clone
Now you need to go inside the directory created where the code is in.
cd InstagramPi
Once inside the folder, you must install the necessary Python dependencies with the next command.
sudo pip install -r requirements.txt
Install FFMPEGIt's time to install FFMPEG which allows you to edit and manage the videos and photos you will upload to Instagram; to download the necessary packet use the next command.
wget https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneye/wiki/precompiled/ffmpeg_3.1.1-1_armhf.deb
Now execute the next command to install the packet.
dpkg -i ffmpeg_3.1.1-1_armhf.deb
Now you're done once the dependencies have been installed.
Camera enabledIt's time to connect and enable your Raspberry Pi camera. For this you need to access to the Raspberry Pi configuration menu with the next command.
sudo raspi-config
And follow the next command.
Interfacing Options->Camera->Enable - Yes
As the penultimate step, you need to reboot your Raspberry Pi Zero W to apply all changes.
Run InstragramPiOnce Rebooted you just need to modify the file "InstagramPi.py".
nano InstagramPi.py
And insert your Instagram user and password in the corresponding section:
IGUSER = "yourUser" # Change to your Instagram USERNAME
PASSWD = "hacksterioilove" # Change to your Instagram Password
Run the script and enjoy!
python InstagramPi.py
Here are some examples of photos from our glasses:
I hope that you like this project or find it interesting. I will be waiting for your Instagram glasses versions, and apply some filters! Don't forget to use the hashtag "PInstagram".
Cheers!
