Those of us that remember the days of serial and parallel ports likely have a better appreciation for the versatility of the now-ubiquitous USB hub than those that didn’t have to deal with those technologies. Conversely, there are a few things that USB isn’t generally capable of, including easy wireless communication.
Hacker Thane Hunt decided to make his own wireless USB port using a Linux single-board computer inside a 3D-printed case that translates normal USB signals into IP messages. Once your PC receives these messages, it translates them back into virtual USB signals, meaning you now have a wireless USB port.
