Wilderness Labs Announces Impact Program

There is no shortage of challenges in the world; climate change, income inequality, pandemics, and more. However, each and every one of us can make a difference, and collectively, we can help shape the world into the place we want it to be.

We believe that technology, including our little corner of it: IoT, can help to bring positive change and lift us all up. Through IoT, we can fundamentally shift the way we interact with each other, interact with the world, and improve the health of the planet. Even though we’re in the beginning of the IoT revolution, we’re already seeing solutions that are having an impact, including:

• Food Production - Increasing yields and decreasing the resource usage needed to produce food.
• Ecosystem Protection - Sensor and data collection to notify of forest fires, animal health tracking, and flood alert monitors are just a few of the efforts making a difference in protecting the rich web of life that sustains us.
• Industrial Automation - Devices that monitor energy usage and reduce power consumption are helping to make use of our precious resources more efficient.

We believe in being a force for good, using technology in ways that leave the planet and humankind better than when we started.

Impact Sponsorship Program

If you’ve got an idea to use IoT to help improve the world, we want to team up and help you make it happen. Send us a proposal and if appropriate, we’ll sponsor you with:

• Hardware - We’ll send you a Meadow F7v2 and a Project Lab board to get you started. If you have additional hardware needs, let us know and we’ll see what we can work out.
• Priority Technical Support - We’ll give you priority access to the team, including mentorship and engineering support to help remove roadblocks.
• Production Support - Building a prototype is great, but getting your ideas into production is where the force multiplication happens. When you’re ready to take the next step, we and our partners will help you get it over the line.

All you have to do is submit a simple proposal that illustrates that you’ve thought through a problem and are passionate about solving it with Meadow. We’ll review submissions on an ongoing basis and choose folks that we feel have a good chance of being successful based on their proposals.

Requirements

• Publish a project on Hackster for social good.
• Include a list of required hardware including the Meadow.
• Allow us to talk about and promote your project.
• Bonus - share source code
