These days, we can get our digital work done from anywhere. Thanks to powerful, lightweight laptops, phones, travel routers, and high-speed cloud services, the "office" is no longer a fixed location but a portable ecosystem. Even so, bringing the convenience of our home office along with us on the road can be anything but convenient. Lugging around all of that hardware can be a real chore, especially when air travel is involved.

Things might get just a little easier in the future, thanks to a new device just introduced by TCL at CES 2026. The TCL 5G Mobile WiFi P50 is a device that combines a modern, high-speed router with a power bank that checks off two essential items on a traveler’s packing list. This is no novelty item that just barely gets the job done—the router supports Wi-Fi 7, Ethernet, and even 5G cellular connections. This is paired with a 5,000mAh battery that can fast-charge wired devices, or wirelessly charge compatible devices.

The TCL 5G Mobile WiFi P50 is designed for users who rely on fast, reliable connectivity while on the move. The device supports full-spectrum 5G, including both mmWave and Sub-6 bands, enabling peak cellular speeds of up to 3.97Gbps where network conditions allow. That bandwidth is then shared locally via a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 BE5800 platform, offering wireless speeds of up to 5.8Gbps and support for as many as 64 connected devices at once. Whether it’s cloud-based collaboration, video conferencing, or high-resolution streaming, the P50 is clearly aimed at handling demanding mobile workloads.

Beyond wireless performance, the P50 also includes a Gigabit Ethernet port, providing a stable, interference-free wired option when absolute reliability is required. A built-in 2.4-inch touchscreen offers quick access to data usage, network status, connected devices, and guest network settings, eliminating the need to manage everything through a companion app. With its internal battery rated for up to 12 hours of continuous operation, the device is positioned as both a travel router and an emergency power source for phones and accessories.

Pricing and availability have not yet been announced, so stay tuned to Hackster News for the latest updates.
