Not only fast but lightweight and compact as well, the TINTEK is a desktop laser engraver and cutter recently launched on Kickstarter. According to the campaign, its engraving power of 12W combined with a self R&D motion chip makes it a rival for any currently on the market in precision and speed. Its 2.8" touchscreen also eliminates the need to connect any other devices — everything can be accomplished directly from the machine’s own interface.

A fixed local laser and an innovative facula condensation technique with much higher energy density than before enables engraving up to three times faster than a regular laser on stainless steel. It can also safely engrave on plastic, wood, real and synthetic leather, painted surfaces, and beyond. Video demonstrations of quite a few of these possibilities are shown on the product’s page.

TINTEK offers three levels of engraving power: 0.05mm, 0.067mm, and 0.1mm precisions that lets users choose the level suitable to their surface and project. It also utilizes an Easy Engrave system developed in-house, which combines a motion control algorithm with an ARM 32-bit chip to produce high speeds, high performance, and high accuracy and to reduce the risk of overburnt edges. Autofocus ensures clean, sharp lines and curves; an electric motor and screw rod allows convenient focus by simply moving the rod and motor up and down on the device’s pole.

Further details and specifications are available via Kickstarter, which surpassed its original goal and is now reaching a $60,000 stretch goal to provide height-adjusting stands free to all backers. The lowest tier reward gets backers the base device for roughly $600 USD, an estimated $400 off retail. According to their current timeline, rewards will begin shipping worldwide in January 2022.
