Created by Rafael Riber, the Retro|Watch V2 is a wearable device based on the HP QDSP-6064 bubble display — similar to those found on vintage pocket calculators from the ‘70s.

The display is controlled by an ATmega32U4 with an Arduino code and flashed with an Adafruit Feather 32U4 bootloader. A Maxim DS3231 RTC module, which stays connected to the LiPo battery, keeps the time even when the microcontroller and display aren’t powered.

Aside from its clock capabilities, the Retro|Watch can be used as a stopwatch and calendar as well. You can read all about the project on its GitHub page.
