Back at World Maker Faire 2016, both Arduino.cc and Arduino.org took the stage to announce that the two parties had settled their differences. Now, they have unveiled a brand new desktop editor for all Arduino boards — an exciting milestone in their journey moving forward.

According to the team’s blog post, you will now be able to use IDE 1.8.0 when building projects with any Arduino, whether from the .org or .cc family. The software works out of the box with popular AVR-based boards, like the Uno, Mega and Micro, as well as others including the Leonardo Ethernet, Yun Mini, Industrial 101, and Uno WiFi.

An updated SAMD core will also provide support for the M0 and M0 PRO, completing the product line that consists of the Zero, MKR1000, and the newly-launched Primo and MKRZero.
