As N-O-D-E puts it, many Raspberry Pi implementations can be kind of messy. In hopes of creating something “small and sleek that you could potentially just plug and play,” he decided to deck out his Pi 3 with a 3D-printed case, a cooling fan, and the capability to mount an SSD drive.

“From the outside, it looks like a slightly larger Raspberry Pi case, but there are a few more features to this, which make it more useful.” (📷: N-O-D-E)

The kit, dubbed “The Pocket Node,” is designed to transform your board into an all-in-one node with expandable SSD storage. As he describes it, this configuration would make an ideal bitcoin full node, a home media server, an NAS device, and other IoT applications.

N-O-D-E is planning to sell this project soon, but if you’d rather make your own, a step-by-step guide can be found on his site while 3D files are also available on GitHub.
