3D printing has opened up many manufacturing possibilities, allowing people to design and print objects as needed. Unfortunately, this generally doesn’t include circuit boards, which have to be designed and installed separately.

The NexD1 by Next Dynamics, now live on Kickstarter, aims to fill that gap with their liquid-jet printer. Using their own proprietary printhead, 200 nozzles deliver the needed material to your part, then are cured with UV laser. It utilizes a six-cartridge storage system, so it can print with up to six materials — meaning different colors, flexibility, and conductivity all in the same design.

The NexD1 prints fully functional circuits exactly like in a regular PCB and places them in any 3D configuration within your design. This is made possible by galvanizing a nano-particle infused resin. This is a truly new and revolutionary form of electronics manufacturing that opens up a limitless realm of potential in 3D prototyping.

The machine also features a beautiful 10" capacitive touchscreen, which offers a simple user experience. With the touch of your finger, you can change and slice your designs, giving you the full freedom you deserve as a Maker. With Wi-Fi connectivity, the NexD1 ensures that you’re always up to date on any of your prints. Status notifications and remote access make it easy to let your creativity flow and free you of any limits.

Hopefully this means one more step toward the day when you can literally press a button and have you new item pop out of the printer. In the meantime, you can check out the NexD1 on Kickstarter and back it for yourself!
