The $40 Dev Board That Does It All
Need serious processing power, Wi-Fi 6, and energy efficiency for your embedded design? The ESP32P4C61-TINY dev board checks all the boxes.
Some embedded hardware projects need lots of processing power. Others might need a high-speed wireless network connection or an energy-efficient design. Meeting any one of these requirements isn’t too difficult to do. But if you’re working on a system that requires all three simultaneously, you’ve got your work cut out for you.
Fortunately, a new development board created by Wireless-Tag called the ESP32P4C61-TINY makes things a whole lot easier. Its dual-processor design provides some serious embedded processing horsepower in conjunction with ultra-fast Wi-Fi 6 network connectivity. The board also comes equipped with a number of conveniences that speed up the development process, and you can pick one up for $40.
As you may have guessed from the name, the ESP32P4C61-TINY is equipped with an ESP32-P4 and an ESP32-C61 microcontroller. Both chips are housed in the onboard Wireless-Tag WT01P461-S1 module. The ESP32-P4 provides a powerful dual-core RISC-V processor running at 400 MHz with up to 32MB of PSRAM and 16MB of flash memory for demanding embedded applications. The ESP32-C61 is included primarily for wireless networking, as it is equipped with both Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth Low Energy 5 radios for high-speed transfers.
The board is also equipped with plenty of exposed GPIO pins, a MIPI DSI display connector, a MIPI CSI camera connector, dual USB-C ports, and a microSD card slot. All of this hardware is packed into a 69 × 33mm footprint that fits into tight spaces for compact device builds.
The ESP32P4C61-TINY is currently being offered on Kickstarter with an anticipated ship date coming right up in July 2026. After the boards ship, Wireless-Tag plans to open-source the entire project and make the full details available to the community.
