Thank You for an Awesome First 10 Years

So it’s been 10 YEARS since Seeed was founded back in 2008! It’s been an incredible ride with you all, who have shared, tinkered, created, and grown with Seeed from around the world. We’d like to send a huge THANK YOU to our innovators, customers, partners, and everyone who have supported us since Seeed’s humble inception in 2008.

While heading into the next decade, we’ve collected some of our favorite moments and milestones — just a few of the ways you’ve helped push innovation forward.

• We’ve grown from a two-person team in a studio apartment into a 250-Seeeder family with offices in five cities around the world (Shenzhen and Chengdu in China, Nagoya in Japan(Seeed KK), San Francisco in the US, Saarbrucken in Germany).

• The seeds of Seeed have spread from one tiny sparkle in Shenzhen to a powerful network of 200+ distributors (THANK YOU!), so our products can be delivered to your doorstep in every corner of the world.

• We have received 310,000+ orders from our awesome 230,000+ customers, and delivered half a million packages of cool gadgets to 182 countries and regions.

• We’ve launched 3,000+ products on Seeed Bazaar since August 22, 2008, including the Grove system, Seeeduino, RF Explorer, Wio, ReSpeaker, Crazyflie, DSO, RePhone, BeagleBone Green and LinkIt series. The community has created an incredible amount of awesome projects with these open source technologies.

• With our Fusion Prototyping services (which was called Propaganda Services back in 2008), countless ideas have been brought into inspiring projects. The amazing WaterLight Graffiti and some of the installations in Mini World Lyon were some great applications of our prototyping services.

• We’ve also have lowered the barrier to IoT hardware development with our Customization services ranging from design and manufacturing to sales and logistics. Focusing on vertical sectors including smart agriculture, smart building, new retail and smart logistics, we’ve tried and accomplished to enable community innovations to renovate and transform traditional industries with IoT solutions.

• We have accumulated resources and connections in the production and supply chain in Shenzhen, and have provided agile electronics manufacturing services for over 700 clients. We also have assisted 50+ Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns to deliver products to global backers. Projects like RF Explorer, Crazyflie, DSO and Arduboy have grown with us by using our manufacturing and door-to-door delivery services.

As we shift into a new role — the IoT Hardware Enabler, from the beginning of this year, we have been focusing on providing services that empower IoT developers to swiftly realize their products. By partnering with technology providers from hardware to the cloud, we offer a wide array of hardware platforms and sensor modules ready to be integrated with existing IoT platforms. With Shenzhen’s extensive and flexible supply chain, we also offer customization and agile manufacturing services, ranging from a single unit to over 10,000 units.
