Specially Made Prosthetic Fires Nerf Darts

After losing his right hand a few years ago, it’s been tough for Nicolas Huchet to win Nerf battles; or so the apparently lighthearted joke went. From this joke, however, creative agency Hackerloop was inspired to build a prosthetic that fires Nerf darts via electrical signals from Huchet’s forearm muscles, detected using electromyography probes.
What appears to be an ESP8266-based Wemos D1 Mini board translates these signals into trigger “pulls,” firing a specially modified Nerf Swarmfire blaster at Huchet’s command. The gun has also been physically modified with 3D-printed parts, allowing it to be worn on Huchet’s arm as a sort of real-life version of Mega Man.
