We have yet another Orange Pi single-board computer from Shenzhen Xunlong and the latest to their long list of open source products, which includes the recent Orange Pi Zero 2. The manufacturer has now launched an upgrade to its Orange Pi R1: the Orange Pi R1 Plus.

The module β€” measuring 56x57mm β€” is based on the popular Rockchip RK3328 quad-core Cortex-A53 64-bit processor clocked up to 1.5GHz, which is a major improvement to its predecessor's 32-bit Allwinner H2+. The Orange Pi R1 Plus also features a Mali-450MP2 GPU.

The Orange Pi R1 is equipped with a microSD card slot, 16MB SPI flash, and 1GB DDR4 memory (SDRAM) β€” although lacks Wi-Fi connectivity. The source code and user manual are expected to be available soon.

The board is powered via USB-C with 5V/2A input, and offers large OS support, including Android 9, Ubuntu, and Debian OpenWRT.

The Orange Pi R1 Plus is currently on AliExpress for $21.99. An optional heatsink and expansion board with TV CVBS output, a 3.5mm audio port, and extra USB ports are available as well.
