Seeed Studio Shines a Spotlight on the XIAO Family, Launches New Community Project Hub
Just taken delivery of a Seeed XIAO board and looking for inspiration? The company's new project hub offers just that.
Seeed Studio has announced the launch of a new platform for those building projects around its XIAO family of ultra-compact microcontroller development boards: the XIAO Project Hub.
"Since the first XIAO board landed on desks around the world, the community has done what it does best — build," says Seed's Kezang Loday in support of the new platform. "Tiny drones, cyberpunk pocket watches, handheld lightning sensing device, wearable AI assistants, wireless keyboards, edge-vision cameras… the range of what people create with a thumb-sized board never stops surprising us. [Now] we're excited to launch the XIAO Project Hub — a single, open home for the best XIAO projects from across the community, all in one searchable place."
As the name implies, the XIAO Project Hub isn't a general-purpose project repository; instead, it's focused explicitly on projects that build around the company's XIAO family of thumbnail-sized microcontroller development boards. Beyond that, it doesn't discriminate: listed projects run the gamut of microcontrollers, from Espressif ESP32-S3 and ESP32-C6 to Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 and Raspberry Pi RP2040, and cover a broad array of categories from edge computer vision to human interface devices.
"XIAO has always been an open-source hardware story, and the Project Hub keeps that spirit alive. It's not a curated showcase locked behind our walls," Loday explains, "it's a living collection that grows as makers like you keep shipping. The more projects the community submits, the richer the resource becomes for everyone who comes after.
The project hub is live now on the Seeed Studio site, with — at the time of writing — 106 projects contributed so far; those interested in adding to that total can suggest their own projects, or ones they've seen in passing, for inclusion by filling in this Google form.
