3D printing has really revolutionized the shapes that someone can make with relatively inexpensive tools. On the other hand, if you’re printing large items or want to use a shared printer, this can cause difficulties. Perhaps you have a dedicated staff of 3D print technicians to handle this for you, but for the rest of us, there’s the “Root,” “Mote,” and “Tree” systems for CEL, the creators of Robox.
Root, which is sort of the hub of the system is a Raspberry Pi-based device that can control up to nine printers at the same time. To this attaches Mote, a touchscreen remote which displays the platform’s web interface. Finally, Tree is a furniture system that allows several of these printers to be stacked vertically, saving space in your print farm.
