Electronics hardware designer Mohit Bhoite sculpts beautiful, functional creations. His robot, Chintoo, has received an update — the ability to nod its adorable head.

Previously we covered Chintoo when it was a static sculpture. As a short review, Chintoo has a brass body, seven-segment LEDs for its eyes, and a Particle Photon microcontroller as a brain. Check our previous coverage for an in-depth look at Chintoo's original capabilities.

As before, Chintoo's body consists of 0.8mm brass rods and 0.01" milled brass body panels. The freeform brass structure makes up the GND return for the electronics.

For version two, Bhoite added a 1.5-gram linear servo to Chintoo's neck. Now the robot can tilt its head while blinking its seven-segment eyes. Also new is a USB breakout board making up Chintoo's feet. The board provides power to the electronics.

In the future, Chintoo might get some additional decoupling capacitors. Though Bhoite admits, those may only be decorative because Chintoo does not seem to need them at the moment.

For more pictures of the cute circuit, check out Chintoo on Bhotie's website. While you are there, check out his other electronics sculptures.
