Do you like cheeseburgers? Do you also like retro gaming? If so, then may I present the Game Burger Advance by Love Hultén. While not edible, in the first demo video below, it’s looks very much at home with what appear to be marginally more consumable fries and a drink.

When this faux burger is opened up, your stomach may still be hungry, but at least you’ll be entertained. It contains a flip-up screen on the top bun, and a directional pad and buttons poking up out of the cheese like blobs of ketchup. A wide range of games can be played on this system, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros., and other classic titles.

The second clip shows the assembly process. While you might assume that this is 3D-printed or fashioned out of an antique burger chain toy, it’s actually the product of assembling multiple layers of laser cut wood, using alignment holes and lots of sanding to produce a realistic shape. Inside are carefully cut recessions for the Raspberry Pi Zero that controls gaming applications, along with a battery and the screen. Once properly cut and sanded, the burger was masterfully painted, and flexible “cheese” applied, creating an edible-looking device that would fool casual observers.
