Pre-Orders Start for the 4GB Variant of the Arduino UNO Q
If you've been waiting for the extra RAM, now is the time to pre-order the Arduino UNO Q.
The Arduino UNO Q has been available for a little while now, but only with 2GB of RAM. That is fine for some tasks, but many people want more RAM and so have been waiting to place their orders. Now they finally can, because the Arduino UNO Q 4GB is now available for pre-order.
This is really unique in Arduino’s product lineup, which mostly consists of microcontroller development boards. The Arduino UNO Q is different, because it is both a microcontroller development board and a single-board computer. It is kind of like if you took a Raspberry Pi 5 and connected that to a Raspberry Pi Pico, but everything is in one package.
A big benefit of this arrangement, aside from saving space, is that the two systems talk to each other through a native bridge. The single-board computer side can run a full Linux operating system with a Python application that can exchange data, including variables, with the Arduino sketch running on the microcontroller through simple function calls.
That is far easier than the typical methods for sending data back and forth between a computer and a microcontroller.
The Arduino UNO Q 4GB is available for pre-order right now for $59.00, with delivery starting on January 15th. If you’ve been waiting for that extra RAM, now is the time to jump in.
