Mr. Carve M3 Brings Industrial-Level Engraving to the Desktop
The engraver/cutter features swappable IR and blue laser heads, a linear guide rail, and an air filtration system.
After the successful run of its Mr. Carve M1 engraving platform, Creativity Space Technology is back with the M3 laser engraving solution. The Mr. Carve M3 incorporates the modular technology of its predecessor. It adds a modular twist with an interchangeable head that offers IR and blue lasers capable of engraving and cutting various materials, including metal, wood, plastics and more. The desktop platform boasts a 400 x 400mm build area and uses a linear guide rail system for continuous motion, which the company states increase precision, and speed and contributes to a longer service life over ordinary frame engravers.
The M3 is equipped with an integrated air filtration system that allows for prolonged indoor use without the buildup of toxic off-gassing from engraving certain metals and plastics. It also sports an add-on rotary roller for engraving round and cylindrical objects.
“M3 offers pro-level engraving to the at-home artisan. Simply connect a smartphone or computer via USB/Bluetooth, choose your photo, and M3 transforms it into a vector image for easy engraving or cutting,” CST states. “The positioning plate then reads the image for simple engraving or cutting. Virtually anyone can use M3 to bring their creative ideas to life, from first-time users to experienced professionals alike.”
One of the more interesting features of the M3 engraver is its ability to work offline in manual mode, which won’t lose data in the event of power failure. It also offers a one-click button for offline engraving, meaning users can set up the M3 to engrave in large batches, and it will memorize your pattern even without a constant connection.
The Mr. Carve M3 laser engraver is currently on Kickstarter with pledges starting at $799 for the base system and one 10W blue laser interchangeable head.
