MOREbot Transforms From Rolling Robot to Cablecam
MOREbot robotic set transforms from wheeled robot to zipliner, under control of Arduino Uno and Bluetooth.
Creating something from a kit can be fun, but a system that allows you to reconfigure it to develop something of your own out of it can spark one’s creativity over and over. MOREbot — which is now in its infancy — with a Base Kit, Maker Pack, and Game Expansion available for pre-order, aims to be just that. Its Base Kit format comes with everything you need to make a rolling robot with two powered wheels and differential steering, but that’s only one of a wide variety of items that can be made out of it.
The video below, in fact, shows MORE Technologies CEO Cannon reconfiguring the base robot from a ‘ground roller’ into a ziplining bot. Everything pops out of and into place nicely, with the O-rings normally used to grip a flat surface removed in order to allow the wheels to fit around the paracord. Control is via an Arduino Uno and a motor shield, with user interface implemented over Bluetooth. The app used for ground-based control is reused is reused to enable it to go back and forth in its new aerial support.
Footage of the robot zipping by starts at around around 9:30 in the video below!
