Massive 512 GPIO Home Automation Board

This ESP32 IoT board features 256 inputs, 256 outputs, analog, and more.

In the world of Internet of Things (IoT) controls, it would seem that the number of inputs and/or outputs you need is always what you have... plus one. The extremely capable KC868-A566 board by KinCony IoT, however, may allow you to be the exception. It offers 256 inputs and 256 outputs, for a massive total of 512 GPIO pins. It also features four analog inputs, useful in a variety of situations.

Input and output pins are broken out into 32 sets of screw terminals. Independent voltage supply pins are provided for each output set, and ground pins for each input. This means you’re not restricted to using one voltage on all outputs, giving you freedom to automate your whole house — and possibly a few neighbors as well.

At the heart of this design is an ESP32 module, which brings its rather massive computing power to bear for your IoT setup and allows for wireless communications via WiFi or Bluetooth. The board also features an RJ45 Ethernet jack for wired LAN, as well as RS485 communication capabilities, and a USB-C connection. Other niceties include a DIN rail connector for mounting, and LED indicators for each output pin.

You can see the device demonstrated in the video below, using ESPHome via Home assistant, and the system is indeed able to control and read this massive number of IO pins without a problem. You can find these devices for sale on AliExpress for $1,000, and more info on the design and KinCony IoT is found in the video description.
