LILYGO comes with yet another version of the T5 series of electronic ink screens. The LILYGO T5 boasts a 4.7" ePaper display along with an ESP32 V3 at the heart of the device. In the last week, M5Stack launched a similar product M5Paper, which shares a 4.7" EPD but costs around $69.

With similar specs to the M5Paper, it would be cost-efficient to go with the LILYGO T5. The T5 series of E Ink screen offers a range of sizes β€” 1.02" 1.54", 2.13", etc. The kit is powered by the ESP32-WROVER-E (ESP32-D0WDQ6 V3) dual-core processor with 16MB of flash memory and 8MB of PSRAM.

As mentioned before, the unit features a 4.7" ePaper display with 960x540 resolution, 16 gray level ED047C1, and supports partial refresh. It also has a six-pin touchscreen interface connector, which is an optional accessory to facilitate the application.

"We have been committed to low-power design optimization. This 4.7-inch version continues the low-power design, the sleep mode current is about 170uA, and two optional battery modes are designed on the back," LILYGO notes. "One is the PH 2.0 pitch 2pin interface, and the other is 18650 battery metal connector.”

With Arduino, ESP-IDF, and MicroPython compatibility, applications for the T5 include desktop weather stations, STEM education, and IoT devices to name just a few. The most important thing is that this model will only cost $25.51 (plus shipping), but for smaller displays, the price tag is around $14 and up.
