After a long list of carrier boards for the popular NVIDIA Jetson modules like Jetson Nano and Xavier NX, Seeed Studio has launched its own Jetson Mate carrier board with a cooling fan. Jetson Mate is a carrier board, which has the capacity to install up to four Jetson Nano/NX system-on-modules via the SO-DIMM socket for expansion.

The board measures 110mm x 110mm with an onboard switch Microchip KSZ9896CTXC, which is a six-port Gigabit switch enabling the installed SoMs. The three peripheral SoMs can be powered on or off separately with one 65w PD power adapter and an Ethernet cable.

The carrier board has many peripheral interfaces, including a USB 2.0 port, four USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port for power as mentioned before, along with HDMI 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet port.

To get started, you primarily require hardware like power supply and up to four Jetson Nano / Xavier NX Compute Modules. After having the required hardware and software, it's time to insert the computer module into the main node followed by shorting the 2 GND pin. Then, connect the Jetson Mate to the computer via micro-USB port and power on the machine. Finally, you are ready to launch the cluster. More information on getting started with the carrier board is available on the Wiki page.

The board is now available for pre-order on the Seeed Studio for $199 with estimated shipping starting January 15th, 2021. It also has an add-on with the Jetson Nano and Xavier NX for $99 and $499, respectively.
