For some IoT applications, high speed and low latency are necessary. However, if your project requires broad coverage and low power consumption, Seeed has the perfect solution for you.

The latest member in Seeed’s Wio cellular series, theWio LTE — Cat M1/NB1, is an open source, dual-mode board featuring an Arm Cortex-M4 MCU and a u-blox modem with LTE Cat M1/NB1, GNSS, and more. The board integrates six standard Grove connectors, which provides easy access 180 powerful plug-and-play Grove sensors, actuators, and other modules. These will significantly simplify the process of IoT project development and deployment with these new communication technologies.

Let’s have a closer look at the technical specifications of the Wio LTE Cat M1/NB1.

  • Supports Multiple Development Environments

The board is powered by an STM32 Cortex-M4 MCU, and supports Arduino and Espruino(JavaScript). Developers can choose the tool they are most familiar with to build IoT project rapidly.

  • Global Range

The hardware is capable of operating in all regions of the world that have implemented LTE Cat M1/NB1, reducing the needs to source multiple versions. The board is compatible with major GNSS, including GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, and Galileo.

The Wio LTE Cat M1/NB1 is ideal for applications that require tracking or periodical locational data away from WiFi and other communication methods limited to cities and populated areas.

Did these scenarios give you some inspiration for your next project? Head over to Seeed’s Wiki page for more details and get ready to start your IoT journey with the Wio LTE Cat M1/NB1!
