InPlay and MikroE Partner on No-Code Bluetooth 5.3 NanoBeacon Click Board

Based on the InPlay IN100, this board promises a code-free, firmware-free, and now solder-free experience.

Embedded specialist MikroE has partnered with InPlay for its latest Click Board: the NanoBeacon Click Board, which aims to make it 4easy to integrate Bluetooth beacon technology into your next project.

"The evolving tech ecosystem demands agile solutions that cater to a diverse set of needs," claims MikroE chief executive officer Nebojsa Matic in support of the company's latest launch. "The NanoBeacon Click Board represents our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible, offering unmatched Bluetooth accessibility across various applications."

The board is based on InPlay's IN100 NanoBeacon SoC, a system-on-chip which includes integrated Bluetooth 5.3 Low Energy (BLE) radio and the promise of a "firmware-less" and "programming-free" design — replacing these with a desktop application which allows for quick and easy customization using a graphical interface.

"The beauty of InPlay's NanoBeacon technology lies in its innate simplicity," claims InPlay co-founder and chief executive officer Jason Wu. "We've removed the barriers, allowing developers and industries alike to tap into the full potential of Bluetooth technology with ease. The IN100 stands as a testament to our dedication to making sophisticated tech easily accessible."

The NanoBeacon Click Board takes this and, as the name implies, adds it to MikroE's Click Board ecosystem — allowing the chip to be added to any Click-compatible carrier board with no soldering. The board includes two user-addressable LEDs, a physical reset button, and a connector for an external antenna, along with physical switches for one-time programming and battery operation modes.

More information on the NanoBeacon Click is available on the MikroE website, where it's available to order at $11 before volume discounts. InPlay's website has more on the IN100 itself.
