Infineon has announced a new brand for its on-device edge artificial intelligence (AI) efforts, DEEPCRAFT β€” a portfolio that opens with the assets the company acquired when it picked up Imagimob last year, plus a selection of new "Ready Models" for immediate deployment.

"The applications for edge AI seem almost limitless. At Infineon we enable our customers to benefit from edge AI," claims Infineon's Thomas Rosteck. "We are proud to drive the development of innovative, trustworthy, convenient and green AI solutions. By establishing DEEPCRAFT, we're making sure that our customers have a broad portfolio of edge AI solutions to suit any need, with the added benefit that our edge AI software and state-of-the-art hardware work together seamlessly."

Infineon acquired Swedish edge AI and tiny machine learning (tinyML) specialist Imagimob back in May last year, with Imagimob's co-founder and chief executive officer Anders Hardebring boasting that the company would become "an integral part of the Infineon ecosystem." While that has certainly come to pass, it's doing so under a new name: everything Imagimob-branded is now DEEPCRAFT, Infineon has announced.

The new DEEPCRAFT umbrella includes what was previously known as Imagimob Studio and Imagimob Ready Models, now DEEPCRAFT Studio and DEEPCRAFT Ready Models, software for developing machine learning models and ready-to-deploy pre-trained models respectively. At the same time, Infineon has expanded the number of Ready Models available with new models for direction of sound arrival detection, surface detection, factory alarm detection, gesture detection, and fall detection.

"Our expanded Ready Models portfolio makes it possible for customers to quickly integrate AI capabilities into their products and services and unlock new possibilities for smart, safe and sustainable solutions that transform industries and improve lives," claims Imagimob's Hardebring. "The expanded range of DEEPCRAFT Ready Models is an important step in creating a marketplace for any customer's AI model needs and builds a solid basis for further DEEPCRAFT solutions by Infineon."

More information on the DEEPCRAFT offerings is available on the Infineon website.
