HyperLaser recently announced the launch of its new compact, powerful, simple-to-use laser engraver, which boasts advanced features, an intuitive app, and smartphone connectivity. Most laser engravers can be expensive, slow, and challenging, making them impractical as a creative platform. HyperLaser is looking to solve that problem, as the engraver is lightweight, affordable, and offers a speed of 6,000mm per minute.

HyperLaser explains, “With up to 5,000mW power and 6,000mm/min speed, you can make magic happen on virtually any material, even cylinders and round objects at any angle. Sketch an idea or upload an image on your smartphone and send it to HyperLaser. It’s just that easy! Your creation will come to life anytime and anywhere.” Combined with a 20K fast-speed galvanometer-based scanner, the engraver can produce images and designs at an impressive 4K/813DPI resolution on nearly any material, including stone, metal, wood, leather, cardboard, and food.

The engraving process starts by using a smartphone app to sketch pictures, or via image and design upload. The HyperLaser then begins generating the image on the material of choice, even on curved surfaces like cylinders and spheres. The platform comes with built-in safety features as well that prevent overheating and disengage the laser when unsafe conditions are met. It also has two safety shield systems to protect users, including one with fan and fume filter so that the device can be used indoors.

HyperLaser is currently crowdfunding the engraver on Kickstarter and has already surpassed its target goal of $10,000 with over $100,000. Pledges start at $459, which gets you the laser engraver, metal tripod, power adapter, safety goggles, instruction book, and fun kit.
