If you spent your high school years attempting to talk to a crush, playing sports, joking around, or perhaps even… studying, check out this custom locker build to see what a truly innovative teenager can accomplish. While on his way to class, student Blake Hawkins had the idea that a locker would be an ideal space for a mini vending machine, and decided to actually build it himself.

What he came up with uses an Arduino Uno clone for control, along with a coin acceptor and a very interesting mechanical fixture. Once he installed it in his locker, he was open for business.

When a customer inserts the right combination of coins, a button is pressed, and the corresponding soda is dispensed. It’s been a hit with the students, and Hawkins even got to ask his girlfriend to the prom using it!
