Pong is generally played on a computer screen with a pixel bouncing back and forth in two dimensions to represent a ball. Matthew and Ian, however, made things a little differently for EMF 2016 — as seen in the Computerfile YouTube video below.

Their version is reduced to one dimension — or perhaps two if you count time — where a marker bounces from one end of a line to another. Though that sounds simple, what makes this build extra awesome is that it’s played in real life with flames marking the position of the “ball” instead of pixels, and one has to “hit” it with Wiimotes embedded in giant ping-pong paddles. It looks like great fun, especially the “extra-firey” victory swipe for the winner!
